Who we are

Canadian Financials (canadianfinancials.ca) is a static, independently operated Canadian website with calculators and explainers about registered accounts and personal income tax. We do not offer accounts, logins or financial products.

What runs in your browser

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The income, contribution and account figures you type are never sent to us or to any server. Your theme choice (light or dark), calculator view (plain English or pro) and your cookie choice are stored in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We may use two Google services. Both honour Google Consent Mode: until you accept cookies they operate in a limited, cookieless mode, and you can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

• Google Analytics 4 (active) tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymised. With consent it sets analytics cookies; without consent it sends only cookieless, aggregated pings.
• Google AdSense (active) displays advertisements that help pay for the site. With consent Google may use cookies to personalise ads; without consent ads are non-personalised. You can also opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings.

Other third-party services

• Cloudflare Pages hosts the site. Cloudflare may record IP addresses and request metadata in its logs for security and performance, under its own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts serves the Fraunces and Manrope typefaces; Google may log font requests.
• Pagefind powers on-site search entirely in your browser with no server calls.

Some pages link to partner sites. Those links are marked, and we never receive personal information from partners.

Your choices and rights

You can reject non-essential cookies in the banner, change your choice later from the footer, block cookies in your browser, or use an ad blocker. The site continues to work in every case. Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may ask what personal information we hold about you; because calculators run locally, we normally hold none beyond what Google or Cloudflare process on our behalf.
